UPDATE 20 March: The Arts Centre Washington.
The centre will start a programme of refurbishment from 3 April and the room we use for salsa (the Low Barn) will not be available in April and some of May.
I am waiting for more information about using another room at the centre during this period. Watch this space.
(The Low Barn is not available on 1 April as there is a craft fair.)
Next session:
Saturday 25 March - 2-4 pm
(UPDATE 23 March:
This is a change from the previously advertised time of 3-5 pm)
A great mix of beginners, novices, ladies learning to lead plus some regular dancers who come to help out just for the fun of it.
There are quite a few people who have taken up salsa for the first time this New Year so I restarted the sessions for beginners and novices as on 11 February. Several were absolute beginners.
The sessions will be aimed at beginners and novices and focus on:
The sessions are very relaxed and informal. A two-hour session may seem a long time but it's an opportunity to learn, improve and practice at a gentle pace. I want people to learn a little, enjoy themselves a lot, and come back for a little bit more.
The sessions are £8 (cash only) for the two hours.
Location: The Arts Centre Washington.
Details below.
No need to book, just turn up a few minutes before the session.
There's a bar in another part of the building and you can bring drinks into the room for the class, the "Low Barn" net to reception.

We've been using the Arts Centre Washington since 2005. It's not too far from Sunderland or Durham or Newcastle. Very easy to find, well signposted and only one mile from the A1 at Birtley services. Free car park. See map below.
The centre is a converted 19th century farm that is now a multi-arts centre with a theatre, art gallery, rehearsal rooms and music studio.

The centre also has its own cafe and bar,
a great place to meet for pre and post session refreshments.
